AVON LAKE, Ohio (AP) _ PolyOne Corp. (POL) on Tuesday reported third-quarter profit of $43 million.
On a per-share basis, the Avon Lake, Ohio-based company said it had net income of 56 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 44 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 43 cents per share.
The maker of resins used in plastic pipe and other products posted revenue of $705.3 million in the period.
PolyOne shares have increased 11% since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 13% in the last 12 months.
