Perrigo (NYSE:PRGO) has voluntarily recalled 16,500 cans of its store brand Premium Infant Formula with Iron Milk-Based Powder that were shipped to H-E-B Grocery Company and CVS (CVS).
The healthcare products company said in a filing on Thursday that the recall was conducted on the retailer and warehouse level. The product was shipped to CVS between Feb. 6 and Feb. 11 and to H-E-B between Feb. 2 and May 13.
The recalled formula had been sent to H-E-B in Texas and to CVS in Texas, Florida, California, South Carolina, Virginia, Indiana, Tennessee, New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Missouri. Perrigo has asked H-E-B and CVS to examine their inventories and isolate the product.
According to a company statement posted on the FDA’s website, the product was voluntarily recalled after higher than permitted levels of Vitamin D were detected through routine testing. No reports of adverse events to date have been attributed to the elevated levels of Vitamin D.
Perrigo said in its filing that the recall is not expected to have a material impact on the company or the 2024 financial outlook it issued on Aug. 2.
