Singular Genomics (NASDAQ:OMIC) soared 10% after a holder offered to buy the company for $12 a share, above a $10 offer from Deerfield Management last Thursday.
Tang Capital Partners, which disclosed a 14.9% stake in Singular Genomics (OMIC), said it made a non-binding proposal to acquire Singular for $12 a share on Wednesday, according a 13D filing. Kevin Tang is CEO of Concentra Biosciences.
"We are prepared to offer $12.00 per share in cash to acquire 100% of the Common Shares," Tang wrote in a letter to Singular's board. "This per share price is a 112% premium to the closing stock price of $5.65 on September 12, 2024."
Tang said the deal would be fully financed by Tang Capital and not be subject to any financing condition.
The Tang offer comes after Singular (OMIC) said on Thursday it has received a non-binding proposal from Deerfield Management Company, to acquire all of its outstanding shares for $10 per share in cash.
Singular Genomics (OMIC) shares are trading at ~$18.54 on Thursday, well above the two offers. Singular has a market cap of $32 million.
